Who We Are
Operating since 2013, Utilitas emerged through a bidding process to select a company to, in partnership with the Water and Sewage Company of Ceará (Cagece), treat water, effluents and industrial waste for companies in the Pecém Complex. The company is a Specific Purpose Society (SPE).
Utilitas is the result of the merger between Cagece and PB Construções, a company engaged in large-scale infrastructure works in basic sanitation, water treatment, and municipal and industrial effluents.

Utilitas is a company specialized in environmental solutions for the treatment of industrial effluents. We can receive the effluents generated by your industry at our site in Pecém, where we have a modern and efficient treatment plant, or we can install a treatment unit within your own site, according to your needs and specifications.

Some examples of technologies we employ are: filtering membranes, granular sludge aerated reactors, biological systems adapted to high concentrations of ammonia, among others.
In Pecém,
we have a submarine outfall that carries the treated effluents to the sea, where they are diluted and dispersed without causing negative
impacts on the marine ecosystem.
We monitor the operation of the outfall and water quality daily, through our analytical laboratory, which performs physical-chemical and microbiological analyses. Utilitas is committed to sustainability. Therefore, we encourage water reuse as a way to reduce waste and optimize water resources in industries. We can help you develop a reuse project that is suitable for your company’s reality and objectives.
Outsourcing of maintenance and operation of water and effluent treatment plants
Utilitas performs water and/or effluent treatment, directly assuming
the operation, maintenance and monitoring of the systems.

HIDRUS is a project by Utilitas that captures sanitary effluents from the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza (RMF) and treats them at the Water Reuse Production Station (EPAR)
until achieving water reuse quality.
After this treatment, it will be transported through section 5 of the Water Axis to the Pecém Complex and will supply industries, including the new Green Hydrogen HUB.
